Our story

Dogs deserve more than ownership.

The 8 Pack began with eight founding members united by a shared belief: dogs deserve more than ownership. They deserve understanding, guidance, responsible care, and opportunities to reach their full potential.

We envision a canine community where training is grounded in knowledge, behavior is approached with understanding, canine sports encourage teamwork, and animal welfare remains a shared responsibility.

Our goal is to build a welcoming and progressive canine training camp in Panacan, Davao City, where dog owners, handlers, trainers, and canine enthusiasts can learn from one another and work toward better outcomes for dogs.

Mission, Vision & Purpose

What guides our work

Our Mission

To promote responsible dog ownership, humane and science-informed training, canine sports, behavioral development, rehabilitation, and animal welfare through education, practical learning, and community collaboration.

Our Vision

To become a trusted and progressive canine training community in Davao City and beyond, recognized for responsible ownership, ethical training practices, canine sports, welfare advocacy, and positive relationships between dogs and people.

Our Purpose

To create opportunities for dogs and people to learn, improve, recover, and thrive together—building a culture in which responsible care and canine welfare are everyone's concern.

Our core values

Principles that guide every decision

Compassion

Every dog deserves dignity, patience, and appropriate care. We seek to understand behavior rather than respond with fear or unnecessary punishment.

Responsible Training

We value humane, evidence-informed methods that prioritize welfare, safety, clear communication, and each dog's individual needs.

Learning and Excellence

We pursue continuous improvement in training, handling, sports, education, and responsible canine care.

Community

We encourage cooperation, mentorship, shared learning, and mutual respect among dog owners, trainers, clubs, and welfare advocates.

Welfare and Safety

We put canine well-being and public safety at the center of our decisions. Responsible management protects dogs, handlers, and the wider community.

Integrity

We strive to act honestly, communicate transparently, respect our commitments, and remain accountable to the community we serve.

The 8 Pack

The Panacan grounds

It's just grass for now.

The Panacan grounds were generously donated by Founder No. 1, one of The 8 Pack's eight members, and are becoming the pack's own sanctuary. Rehab areas, a café, an agility field, and a search and rescue area are planned, one piece at a time.

Different dogs. Different journeys.
One pack.

We are eight founders, but our vision extends far beyond eight people. We want to help build a community that grows through education, collaboration, integrity, and genuine respect for every dog.
